Integrated Marketing Communications

In the Spring of 2024, I participated in MKTG 384, a course called Integrated Marketing Communication. All semester long, a group of students and I collaborated on a full IMC plan for a local client, the Rockingham Educational Foundation. We researched the client, the industry, potential competitors, as well as created buyer personas to target our deliverables towards. After writing communication and marketing objectives, we created deliverables in traditional marketing, direct marketing, social media marketing, as well as sales promotions. Honorably, my group received "Best IMC Plan" of all 3 classes and over 18 groups.

Integrative Business

In the Fall of 2024, I participated in COB 300, a semester-long course at JMU called Integrative Business. Alongside six other students, we developed a new product idea from scratch and built a comprehensive business plan. The course integrated core areas—Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Management—challenging us to fully conceptualize each piece for the first five years of the business. We conducted market research, designed product prototypes, developed pricing strategies, forecasted financials, and outlined operations. This project offered valuable experience in teamwork, problem-solving, and the interdisciplinary nature of business.

Marketing Internship
NTP EVENTS
In the summer of 2024, I participated in a 9-week internship with NTP Events. This experience enhanced my knowledge of the trade show industry and allowed me to apply my studies in a real world setting. During my time I contributed to five different clients projects, designing graphics in Canva, writing social media copy, and crafting emails to promote exhibitor and attendee registration. I also had the opportunity to observe the early stages of campaign development, where I contributed to brainstorming taglines and exploring creative concepts.

Our campaign theme was "Sharing is Caring", drawing on the nostalgia of childhood. This print ad was intended to remind the community of their childhood lessons, like writing and giving back.

In this deliverable, we were tasked to practice copywriting skills, writing a press release on REFI's teachers of the year. This was intended to be shared on local news sites and expand reach.

For a digital marketing deliverable, I created an email newsletter called "What's Up with REFI?". This email was sent to a list of subscribers and share information about upcoming events and how to donate.

Sales promotion
In collaboration with the local golf club, REFI would display this sales promotion flyer in which members would get 10% off of registration to the golf tournament, where proceeds go to REFI.
